| When a friend invited my three year old to join her in an art lesson, I readied myself for Popsicle sticks and glue. Much to my delight, Ellen Mcgaughey's art studio located right across from Oriole Beach Elementary provided an experience in fine art. Who knew three year olds could create ceramic masterpieces? We will soon have a lovely collection of colorful fish prominently displayed at my house. Perhaps it is the combination of her in- spiring, sun-filled studio and being surrounded with pieces of Ellen's award winning art, that has made me a fellow student alongside my daughter each Friday morning. Children and adults alike find encouraging instruction as Ellen helps unlock creative potential. There is no limit to Ellen's creativity. Our varied projects have us learning new techniques weekly and use a wide variety of materials. For the budding artist or a novist like me who just needs a little creative therapy, Ellen's art has something for everyone. All ages are welcome and Ellen is available for both group or private instruction. Suzie Howell |
